📝 Climate News
ADX welcomed the secondary listing of USD 750 million green bond by Masdar, a ten-year bond, 5.6 times oversubscribed, carrying a 4.875 % coupon rate with maturity in July 2033, aiming to fund new clean energy projects.
The World Organisation for Smart and Sustainable Cities is set to open a regional office in Abu Dhabi after a successful bid by Department of Municipalities and Transport.
ImpactGulf launched ‘71 Climate Heroes’ offering 71 UAE-registered enterprises a complimentary quantification of their greenhouse gas emissions for the past five years (2018 - 2022). With a focus on SMEs, registrations are open till Dec 2.
Saudi Arabia entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the world’s largest sustainable farm spanning over 3.2 million square meters in the Asir region.

MENA Climate Week was held from 8-12 October in Riyadh, KSA. If you missed the opening ceremony, watch it here. Some other highlights from the week:
KSA launched Greenhouse Gas Crediting and Offsetting Mechanism (GCOM), a domestic voluntary carbon market mechanism.
PIF and SEC launched a new EV infrastructure company to build fast charging EV infrastructure across KSA.
Sustainable Tourism Global Center launched a Global Solutions Hub to drive sustainable tourism.
KSA and India signed an MoU to collaborate on electrical interconnections and green hydrogen.
The Asia Pacific Climate Week will be held in Malaysia 13 - 17 November 2023.
